Bug or Something Very Strange
For the third week in a row I have had a very strange auction listing after uploading a batch of them. For the past two weeks this person Rizokarpaso has bid on my auctions BUT at the end of the auction, the auction that this person bid on appears nowhere. Not as won, not as sold, totally gone. This week I looked at the bid history and if you do that you will see something very strange. The first bid happened 2 months ago. I don't know if I am being charged any fees for these as sold lots. I don;t see a breakdown like I used to see on the old Bidstart site.
Here is the listing:

Bug or something just very strange? I really don't know

This is definitely very odd. It looks like this is an auction listing which was originally imported from bidStart in 2016 - but it had a duration which lasted years... That obviously shouldn't be possible with any item you created on HipStamp. However, it should just end and sell normally. If that's not the case with this one - please let me know.
It will end, and disappear with no trace, I had an Austria set that this happened to last week, and a Cayman islands set the week before. This stamp however just as the others, was uploaded Monday night as part of a batch upload, If you look in the last report in my store you will see that for item #8, it updated a lot rather than create one. I looked at the spreadsheet I uploaded and it looks fine. Of course one must wonder what was the item in my store that got updated into an auction, and who is the mysterious bidder who appears each week on the item that disappears. Is it a real person?

Rizokarpaso is a real person - in the UK. Perhaps he believes he didn't win the auction as it continues to disappear.
Something strange is going on here. I had an item sell that I closed in September, There are duplicate listings again that I spent months fixing. and now items that were on the site are no longer listed.
For days, I received no email from HipStamps regarding any sales - thank goodness for Paypal. Today (03-21) I got a PM on HipPostcard dated March 17th with questions regarding some PC's!!

Years ago I found a bug in the old Bidstart that probably carried into SG and the ramifications no doubt exist here in Hipstamp. I like many others sell the same inventory on many sites. I don't sync because I don't want everything in multiple places, just some things. When something sold I would then come here to delete the listing, but it could not be found. I used to think it was me with sloppy bookkeeping but it was not. Seems that items did not always appear when searching by the stamp BUT did appear if you did the search by the item number. Of course how would you know that? Problem was the stamp was appearing to others and from time to time it would be sold, and of course i did not have it any longer. I caught on to this when one day I sold a stamp that I KNEW I had just listed and scrolled backwards through my stamps until I hit the item in inventory on Bidstart, I played around with it, sent screen shots to the tech people and got no real answer. basically I know my inventory is a mess, and there is no way to ever fix it. I just hope I never sell an expensive item that I already sold some time ago. It may not be duplicate listings. It could be the same exact problem I have

I've found what the issue is with this listing. Within the Bulk Lister, all Private IDs, if set, must be unique. It looks like you have one listing in the CSV file you are uploading each time where the Private ID is not blank - it's a single space character. So each time you upload your CSV file, you're updating / overwritting active listing which has a single space as the Private ID - which is currently Listed ID: 1183705
So the item is not closing and then disappearing - it's not closing because you're updating it before it closes - it's all the same listing. That being said, you should not be able to update an active auction listing. We'll review this further on our end, to determine why this was possible, and prevent it from happening again. I've also removed the single space Private ID from this listing. Please ensure that any further CSV files you upload do not have spaces in the Private ID field.
Jeri - We're not having any general issues with items being sold that previously closed, or duplicated listings. If you believe you're having any specific issues, please open a support ticket with us, and we can review what you're referring to.
I just looked at the spreadsheet. The entire column is blank but perhaps it is a space as you said. I'll delete the row for the next time and see what happens. Thanks

Thanks for your great explanation. I don't sync either and list manually. For a long time I felt the same way - sloppy bookkeeping or getting senile. But the items in question usually have an April 9th, 2016 start date and end date "NA". this might have been related to my BS store going down and SG trying to get it back up. It's very frustrating but you made me feel better today
Mark, Thanks, but there are so many of these issues that I have decided to redo/relist each Country as I get new listings to put on. I'm just going to slowly wipe out each country and relist fresh. That way there will be no BS #'s/listings. The BS #'s are meaningless to me, anyway, as SG changed them all so my inventory doesn't match these anymore.
BS numbers are very important to me as that is how my inventory is filed. Hipstamp numbers start a new chapter in it. I don't have the time to go back through every listing. If I don't have it i just apologize and refund it. Been doing that for years now.
