Prices on HipStamps

How come some seemingly single stamps sell for $25 in one place and the same stamp is offered for $0.10 a short distance away?

  • I have not noticed this, myself. We might be able to give a meaningful response if you provided examples.
  • perhaps the $25 item includes California taxes?
  • Ron that's a great suggrstion. I love it!
  • To Ted:
Next time I see it I'll point it out to you.
  • Just a question, in case... Are you sure its the same stamp based on the description or because you just saw a pic of a stamp that looked the same? I'm asking because I just spent hours listing Indian stamps and lots of them look the same but when perforation, watermark and revised printing changes a very common stamp to a very interesting $tamp price wise.
  • Then the description ought to say something to make it obvious that it's a different stamp.
  • The price difference could be due to the seller. I once listed a common cover for $175 - forgetting the decimal. (it didn't sell)
OR one of the sellers doesn't know what he is looking at. Which one is up to you to figure out by reading not only the title but also the details tab.
Then there is always the final solution - move on.
