18th century British tax stamp
Hi everybody. I have an 18th Century British tax stamp or revenue stamp very similar to the stamp on the far left of this image I found on the internet. My stamp is on a document that is being appraised right now, so I can't take a picture of it at the moment.
My stamp looks exactly like the one on the far left, except the number in the upper right hand corner is "70."
The document appraiser didn't have an idea as to the value of the stamp itself. When I get the document back, I can take a photo, but in the meantime, just imagine the image on the far left with "70" where the number is. The lower right-hand side of my stamp if folded back about 1/4". Otherwise it is in good shape.
Does anyone have an idea as to the value of this item?
