US Customs Hold in NYC

Purchased a US Scott 245 from Montreal City Stamps 3 weeks ago and they sent it ExpressPost Canada. It's been "stuck" in US Customs now for 15 days and when I check USPS Inspector General reports, I heard that they sometimes leave large carts of mail and parcels just sitting outside for months at a time, no accountability. Is this becoming a common experience out there?

No, it's been going on for years. It is US Customs where the hold ups are, not the post office.

The postal service IGs report was brutal on them . Wonder if we should only use Fed Ex?

Fedex through customs used to be a nightmare (and expensive) - maybe things have changed.

UPS, and probably FedEx as well, being private freight delivery companies have to pay terminal fees above that that postal services do. Private companies are not covered under the UPU convention (to my knowledge). So, you will pay much more than if you used the post office, even when doing it correctly by sending merchandise via first class parcel.
