Another amazing bargain on Scott #55

We all would excuse an honest mistake, we all make them for sure. I see the listing for the #57 in tonights' auction was corrected to #75, although from the color, more likely a #76. But right next to it is offered a #55. Is this really one of the 21 existing copies? And why is it cancelled if they were never issued for postal use? Is it wrong to call them out on this? They are a BIG business, it's what they do for a living. If scrupulously honest practices are what we all want and expect, shouldn't they be held to some kind of standard? Just wondering.

  • Not at all wrong, just message them. 55, 57, it's almost like someone was entering sequential values which by coincidence appear as inverted 57/75 (yeah, could be 76) but in the same auction 55. It may simply be they've hired a novice to enter items (but that should be closely monitored for sure), or some "automation" in their spreadsheet resulted in over writing fields... lots of strange things can happen. But so far, every item I've reported to them, they've fixed.
