Most of these were supposed to be destroyed after the end of the war , but were purchased by the multitude of young collectors . I found a multitude in Eastern Europe and Ukraine. Recent years , they’ve returned as governments have liberalized the sale of these items .
He did have quite a racket going on with the postage stamps. The only available regular issue stamps towards the last several years of his reign were Hitler-head stamps, of which he got a royalty for the use of his image. All the semi-postal stamps had huge premiums over the postage value (the ones pictured above had premiums of 200% - 400% over the postage value), so the party could collect a lot of money for their "causes". As with all dictatorships, those running the show become very wealthy while everyone else suffers.
