New Postal rates effective 1/22/23

Am I the only one who was unaware of the new postal rate increase? If it was well publicized, I missed it. A regular First-Class letter is now 63 cents. The addition ounce fee remains at 24 cents. Geeze, I hope all the mail I sent out in the last 2 weeks gets delivered.

  • Bob.

I was unaware of the change so you do not stand alone.

    Thanks!

  • Someone with academic credentials needs to do a study of the sociological effects of non-denominated postage. We must make an effort to know what we are paying. And if we must make an effort, certainly the employees of the postal service must negotiate a mental pretzel to make sense of all our leftover postage. Even the non-denominated stuff gets confusing. Just look at any set of UK stamps, or how much is a "second ounce, non-machinable" stamp worth?

    It was publicized.

Also, rates changes now occur twice a year. In January and June.

Save the link below. It will always give you the most current information on all the rates and fees charged by the United States Post Office. (The link is to the USPS).
