  In my earlier active days is politics, I inquired about appointment to Citizens Stamp Advisory Committee. ( I was involved in partisan hierarchy back then). Membership is at the discretion of the Postmaster General ( which has been political). There are not giants in American philately generally, although it has become art and design folks. I know some represent philatelists, but collectors influence is minimal. The pressure to express "woke" subjects reflecting the dominant mood of the ruling cultural elite is now the driving force.. That's fine because I largely ignore the "stickers' they generate. There is enough classic philately available to satisfy me until my blood pressure drops to zero.
