Listing Screens

Now that I have been listing manually more than a thousand items over the last few months - I have become use to the new process but there is one thing that really is annoying. When I list many items at the same time - I really only need to update the first entry screen and the second one with the price of the item. The moving to the NEXT to the third screen is a waste of keystrokes because the shipping and return policy is the same for every item. I would like a button on the pricing screen that takes you directly to the last screen where you can confirm before hitting List Now. We had this ability on Bidstart - where you could skip over to the end. Steve

  • amen brother. I still can not list as fast at HS as I could at BS, and if I get to the final screen and see something that needs to be changed on the first page its slooooow getting back to the 1st page.
  • I just tried to do auction listings. I thought that if you entered the stamp information in the title line it automatically would populate the catalog info. That doesn't seem to be happening. Online listing just takes too long. I'll try some auction s with the bulk lister. There is no way that Hip is as good as Bidstart when it comes to listing. There was never a faster listing process than that one. This does not come close. Without the bulk lister I wouldn't list anything here.
  • Tried the auction bulk loader. For some reason I got a message that said the buy it now field could not be blank (it wasn't a field on the template). OK, I then went and filled it in on the upload to 999.99 and that became the starting price on all the auctions. I'm glad I tried it with just a few and only wasted half a buck. I'll stick to what works.

I'll add my voice to the squeaky wheel club here. When creating a listing, it would be very helpful if we had the option of bypassing the "listing settings" and/or (especially) the "shipping" pages and go directly to the "list now" page.
Another old request revisited. When searching, a great time-saver would be for the next search to default to the parameters of the immediately preceding search. Thanks!
  • I like the system, but bypassing the shipping page would be great.
  • The thing is if you don't have the catalog info match the title then it doesn't come up on a search. Having to enter all this info is very time consuming. The bulk lister doesn't require that so that says to me that the site is populating both fields from the field on the spread sheet. If the bulk lister can do this, why not the online lister? That being said, the only way I will add anything is the bulk listing tool but not auctions as it did not work properly (and there are fees associated with experimenting)
  • I have the Catalog # in my titles - so that is automatically populating the catalog field. The country, condition (mint or used) and the Scott Catalog # - are in my titles - so the catalog is being updated for those fields properly for me. The year field is hit or miss for me still - it sometimes gets it right and sometimes it is still not right - but I really do not care about it much. I never bother with the catalog fields manually ? Steve
  • Steve are you sure? I remember when I tried to bypass changing both the title and the catalog, in effect, leaving the catalog the same for every stamp. when I went to do a search, it did not find the stamps. My guess is when someone searches in the store it looks at the catalog, not the title . At that point I deleted the dozen listings that I tried it with and switched to the bulk uploader which is much much faster.
  • Either I am doing something right or wrong - but when I search for specific items by country and catalog number - stamps I have listed show up in the results. I never touch the catalog fields - and they are being filled properly based on my titles when I list them one by one. As I said only the year field seems to be a mixed bag for me. For me - the catalog fields that are important are being filled properly from my title line so that is no extra work for me.
  • The year never works for me, but I like the auto filling feature. I enter the year manually, the only problem with this is if you alter the description it empties the year field so you have to fill it in again.
  • A 'list now'button on each listing page would speed up this very tedious process. Many have asked for it already, including myself.
