Question about Promotion Types

I've started creating custom coupon codes to provide to people when I've made an error in the listing, and I end up sending the wrong item, or even worse, a faulty item. I'm using the following settings
Coupon Code
Does anyone know if this will cover postage costs as well as the cost of the item? In other words, if they buy an $8 item and postage is $1, does the coupon code cover $8 or $9?

    The Order Subtotal does not include shipping or tax.

    Currently you can not create a coupon code which affects shipping. You can create shipping promotions, such as Spend X, or Buy Y Items, and receive free shipping - from the Postage Setup page, but this would be in general (not for use with a specific code).

    Mark ... thanks for the quick reply. Would you consider adding this to the request list? I'd like to be able to use promotion codes in this manner, but if the buyer still has to cover the shipping costs, it sort of defeats the purpose.
