Jacques - I had several stamps from your store in my cart. All of them were marked "no longer available" when I looked this morning. I was able to find many of them by searching. It appears that the item numbers were changed. Example: #45726876 …

Maybe the "we have them all on sale" caused some confusion for the buyer? I think they saw the "we have them all" portion of this and interpreted this to mean that you have literally all the cachets, rather than interpreting it context, where clear…

Alan - I’m in IT, and I’m on the opposite side of those situations. We’ll do RFPs with multiple vendors. The vendors incur thousands of dollars in expenses in hopes of being selected for a contract that will be worth significant money over time. …

Jacques Famery - From my experience, you go above and beyond what other dealers do in terms of communication. I've ordered from you a half dozen times and always get a quick response and a photo of the outgoing envelope(s). I think there has only …

Staring at images on eBay and looking for decent stuff amidst pages of wallpaper.

I started collecting about a month after shifting to WFH at the beginning of the pandemic. With no commute and no kid extracurriculars, I suddenly had some free time.

Maybe the “Geaorge” variant is hard to find.

Yeah, I don’t know how to follow.

Steven - at the very top of the thread, there’s a star. Click it and it’ll be bookmarked. To get back to it, click the Navigation bar and go down to “my bookmarks”

Oh, no. I saw his store go offline a while back, just as I was about to place an order. I just assumed he went on vacation and didn’t think much about it. Sorry to hear this.

When I'm searching for topicals, I usually just search on the term "dinosaur", "tiger", or "baseball", for example. I'm rarely looking for a very specific stamp, or even a specific country or date range.

12-18 months, plus $500 fine (via PayPal).

Or even give users the ability to create templates for shipping. For example, you might create a template called “single stamp - US buyer” and apply it to all your listings that are a single stamp. When you needed to make a change, you’d change …

You’ve done a great job with my “havoc” orders, Jacques. I think I even specified that there was no rush once or twice, and they were still in the mail a couple days later.
-
There are a couple orders in the past year that I never received. I intentionally opted not to leave any feedback, rather than leaving neutral or negative. I assume the delivery issues that plagued everyone during COVID was the most likely cause…

Probably moved to Transylvania for effect, too. Oops. PENNsylvania. Always get them mixed up.

Ted - Years ago, Block collected a bunch of his afterwords (and possibly some forewords) into a book called Afterthoughts. If you haven't read it, I'd recommend it. It includes the anecdote you mention. Block is probably the person most responsib…

In guess I normally expect something to be shipped in about three business days? That’s just a gut feel based on experience, thought. A couple of exceptions to that: 1) If the seller clearly states that they ship on certain days. If they ship on…

Sorry. I'm buying as fast as I can

I knew about crash covers, but didn’t realize it was part of a larger category. I’ll have to check it out.
-
OK - you should see a new order to process
-
Are there people who actively collect damaged mail? It's kind of interesting, in its own way.
-
I’m going to have to check you guys out. I routinely buy cheap stamps - usually buying at least a couple dozen. Jacques had one stamp that I wanted. I ended up buying 30

I'm not sure that's really significantly different? The key point is that neither side can compel the other to take an action they don't want to take.
-
Yeah, that's odd. As a seller, you get to decide if you want to entertain offers, and which offers you choose to accept. As a buyer, I can either accept your terms or not buy from you.
-
Six days later, and it's out for delivery. Yeah, I've been checking periodically.
-
Yeah, it’s definitely not the sellers.

I'm not familiar with Newfoundland, but it might be similar situation to a New Zealand stamp featuring Lake Wakatipu. In the NZ case, the used is also worth more than the mint. Initially, there was an error, and the name was incorrectly spelled Wa…

From a buyer's perspective, an offer to cancel the transaction is what I'd expect. Looks like an honest mistake of transposing digits.

Ah, yes. The great Nebraska archipelago.
