So, there is no cure?

Yarn! Watch out!

A hinge? Or a crease?

Let's see... Has it been hinged? Creases? Askin' for a friend.

It looks like the sw for the LiDE 220, My Image Garden, supports color correction, and there's a new update available. Scan your stamp with a cal card and set it where the RGB tiles read 0,0,255, 0,255,0, 255,0,0 (or whatever your color scheme says)…
-
So...is stamp color subjective or objective? If someone is paying good money for a color, shouldn't it be quantifiable, like centering and margins (and the sw to evaluate them)? I not keen on a leave-it-to-the-experts mentality. And colors do chang…

I dunno. Would I buy it for $10M and NOT sign it? The people who have owned it and "left their mark" are rich and famous. The signatures themselves should be worth something... Everything you're not supposed to do has been done to that stamp: trim…

Search "Spectrophotometer" on Amazon. The answer might be there. New toys!

If you scanned (or phone snapped) a stamp along with a standardized calibration card (available on Amazon, etc.), the image could be gamma-corrected, regardless of monitor fidelity. Then you'd have your number. Someone just needs to map those values…

Computer monitor color reproduction is not consistent. You almost need a Pantone kit (my wife was a designer).

Back when the Internet was just the internet and primarily academic, approximately twenty-five percent of bandwidth was consumed by the Oxford Comma debate (along with Intel/Motorola debate and approx 5% salty limericks, of all things). Like any Eng…

Has anyone tried a color-grab app on their phone? Mainly for painters/designers, but, maybe?

Don't get him started on semicolons; the platypus of punctuation.

The comma is the difference between the Type Ia and Type IIa sentence. Values differ greatly. Only buy sentences certified by a proper authority (Mr. Doll?).

If it is "required," then you have to define consequences ("Or what?"). It'll be interesting to see if Hip wants to go there. I think you can define the Sellers' rights to withdraw after (say) 5 days if payment isn't made. But I wouldn't be for all…

".. should..."?

"offering to split it" I understand that sentiment, but think of it as if were the payment. If I send cash and it doesn't show up, I can't just blame USPS and expect the seller to send me half the stamps for free. I can send a check instead to have…

"This is a reciprocal matter!" No, it is not. Once I pay the invoice, my obligation is fulfilled. If you want feedback, earn it. If you leave negative feedback because I didn't leave you any, consider me an ex-customer. I don't pay much attention…

The Scott catalogs are the gold standard, but are pricey for a World set. If you find treasures in the collection, you might find these useful in sorting arcane details (and value) in older stamps. There are digital editions. HipStamp is a good pla…

The only way to find out who won a HipStamp contest is to send them a SASE for them to use to send you the results. Sounded pretty 1950's to me, and not very "hip."
-
A winners list button or blog/forum announcement instead of having to send a SASE? That would be a new/improved feature, wouldn't it? (You don't need to shout.)
