  1. Stamp collection.

    Scott Payton
by Scott Payton · December 2022
That said, what you have here is not considered part of the Franklin-Washington era (which is from 1908 to 1923 and stars with Scott #331 and ends with Scott #547). While there are a few (very few)

I'm looking for information regarding South Africa 23 - springbok. (it might be #33 or later). There seem to be 2 very different designs of these, one with a background of lines, the other with a bac

by Scott Payton · April 2022
The Franklin-Washington "era" isn't called an era for convenience. It ran from 1908 to 1921 (Scott #331 to #547), with very few other designs printed (and one of those was Lincoln in the sa

The stamp being auctioned off is likely #334. There are several mint #334's available on Hipstamp, one for less than $10 and, on the high end, a couple over $100, depending of condition.

by William Sandrik · August 2021
Michael, those plate numbers in the scroll work on the sides are only on the 1864 issue, Scott #33 (Pl#71 - 225). The earlier stamps are much more difficult to figure out the plate numbers.

Now in general John, the Washington-Franklin "era" starts with Scott #331 and runs to Scott #547, with a few pesky Pan-Pacific Expo issues in there, and a couple other odd Lincoln and Seward

I am 10% in favor of the way David Monk wants to handle things for dealers. Say people pish te search button 110 times for Great britain #33 mint. Then it would show up as wanted GB #33 mint 100 searc

This was a bluish paper issue and I think it is clear from the scan this stamp has no blue whatsoever. This is either a #335 or #378 (depending on the watermark). Catalogue values for these two stamps

The Jamestown Issue is known for its poor centering. A #330 superb/gem may well be worth the $300 you mentioned. A nice NH VF example sells for around $80 based on my findings. As someone said, its

This stamp #330 was listed as a "gem" at a strong price. It is F/VF at best. Why would a knowledgeable collector/dealer list a stamp such as this as a gem? There are many similar centere

by Henry Brooks · June 2019
I bought a shoebox full of #33's back in the 80's so have had a lot of practice looking for the numbers. Probably 2/3rd's of them have been strung but I think that is part of the charm..

OK - plate numbers on GB#33. Hard to read sometimes especially when hiding behind a cancel. Here is a plate #94. It is visible on both sides of the stamp - I have cropped and rotateed the number on th

This is more of a collector's question, but I think most all here have worked both sides. Collecting and selling. Much of what the family has put into albums are singles and some occasional souvenir
