The 1922 II Gran Premio do Penya Rhin was won by the Irish born driver Kenelm Lee Guinness (in a Talbot-Darracq 56 car). Villafranca in Catalonia Spain held auto racing events on public roads from 1908-1920, followed by a 9 mile circuit around the town from 1921-1923 when it was replaced by the purpose built Autodrom de Sitges Terramar circuit.
