The stamps show events from 1944 including:* Allied forces retake New Guinea* P-51s escort B-17s on bombing raids.* Troops running from landing craft (Allies in Normandy, D-Day, June 6.* Airborne units spearhead attacks.* Officer at periscope (Submarines shorten war in Pacific).* Parade (Allies free Rome, June 4; Paris, Aug. 25).* Soldier firing flamethrower (US troops clear Saipan bunkers).* Red Ball Express speeds vital supplies.* Battleship firing main battery (Battle for Leyte Gulf, Oct. 23-26).* Soldiers in snow (Bastogne and Battle of the Bulge, Dec.).Central label is the size of 15 stamps and shows world map, extent of axis control and the words "1944: Road to Victory". The picture below shows the full sheet with both upper and lower panes and a close up of one of the panes.
