Item Description
CANADA #17 'X' CENTS BROWN 1859DESCRIPTION: Canada #17 'X' Cents Red Lilac 1859. No tears or thins. There is a slight crease at lower left corner looking at back. It appears that many of the perforations are still in place, in fact this stamp may have been cut to seprate it from adjoining stamp on fight side, perfs still in place there. Image somewhat off center to bottom. Very good condition, solid example of earlier issue. Hinge remnant. The white spot on face of stamp is small bit of paper fiber adhering. I did not want to soak the stamp because of the interesting perfs still in place, but that spot of paper on front could probably be easily removed with a swab and and a little water.
