Item Description

This is the paired set of 1948 mini-souvenir sheets overprinted in Japanese to commemorate the centenary of the death of painter Katsushika Hokusai, which is currently at auction. The stamp sheets are in excellent condition and are as issued, never hinged and without gum. The pairing includes the mint sheet as well as a second sheet most likely bearing a commemorative favor cancellation. This is the second edition of the design as identified in Scott catalogues and easily distinguished by the overprinted Japanese characters.  Please study the images for centering, clarity, color, and over all condition.
