Published in 1950, this is an American Philatelic Society reference from the Hand Book Series, which will be most beneficial to collectors Puerto Rician issues from the mid-19th Century and earlier. The Postal History of Puerto Rico offers great images, reference charts, and easy to follow text for any collector focused on this U.S. territory before it was a U.S. territory. The authors, R.B. Preston and M.H. Sanborn compiled a nice reference, which then-APS Philatelic Literature and Research Committee Chairman Ralph A. Kimble, in his forward, dubbed as close to being a complete recount of early Puerto Rician postal history as a collector was likely to see. The images are random and of the book now for sale.
Title: The Postal History of Puerto Rico
Size: 100-page book (roughly 8-x-10-inches)
Publisher: J.W. Stowell Printing Company, Federalsburg, Maryland
Publication Date: 1950
Binding: Hard Cover
Book Condition: Reference Copy without the original dust jacket, if indeed it had one, but not that it really matters for a philatelic volume.
Many philatelic reference books are collectible in their own right since many renouned hobby experts are now out of print. Most are valued for their collectibility based on condition, rarity, and to some extent their use as a reference. Condition is the key and is highly subjective, so study the images, read the content, ask questions, and work with a reliable collector-dealer to get what you want.
Please note, payment is expected within three (3) days; thank you. And remember, safe secured shipping is free. This will ship media mail, unless the buyer wishes to pay for a faster postal service.
Every effort is made to generate a stellar experience for buyers and reciprocal feedback is always appreciated. Bookmark the store and check back often for new opportunities.
