pg3423 (97)Reproduction Stamp06/22/2020 05:44:55This stamp whilst strictly not a forgery , was made as an advertising gift , & has German origins. Stamp is slightly smaller than the genuine, 25x28.75 as opposed to 25.5x29.75mm . It has no watermark unlike the genuine and perf 11.5/12 as opposed to 14 Under the top cancellation bar you will see FACSIMILE to show it is not an official stamp & under the blotch on the bottom cancellation bar is the word FALSCH . Data courtesy of my St.Vincent handbook by Pierce,Messenger & Robson Lowe Page 135. An interesting item , but not Sc54/Sg53. Hope this information is useful. Best wishes ,Peter

Re: Reproduction Stamp06/24/2020 11:43:28Peter,
Please accept my apology for not responding to your message and I have not been ignoring you message, but had to take my sick computer to the computer doctor to have bugs and other problems resolved and now it is working the proper way, as it should.
I am sorry about the problem with this stamp and it certainly look like the cancellation was perfectly placed, to fool some unsuspecting sole, like me. Every stamp I sell carries a 100% money back guarantee and this example is one of the reasons why I do. I do not intentionally sell any stamps that have faults or other problems, unless they are listed as such. If your desire is to return the stamp, do so and I will promptly refund your monies via Paypal.
Again, my sincerest apology for the problem with the stamp.

Re: Reproduction Stamp06/24/2020 16:47:17Thanks for your reply (I haven't bought the stamp !) , I just thought you would like to know a few more details about it .The stamp will certainly be of interest to specialist St.Vincent collectors . This stamp doesn't pretend to be real as it is overprinted as such , there are far more dangerous forgeries of stamps & cancellations on early St.Vincent stamps , one of the reasons I collect this country !! Best wishes ,Peter

Re: Reproduction Stamp06/25/2020 11:34:03Peter,
Well, color me red for not even checking my stock to see that it had not even been sold. Yes, the top line of the overprint is clearer, especially with a magnifier, but the bottom line BLOB must be covering the Falsch word.
I did find the information you noted to be very interesting and certainly goes to prove the difference between a stamp collector and a philatelist.
Thank you very much for the heads up on this stamp.
