United States, Scott #3228 (Michel #2999)(Yvert&Tellier #PR47)(Stanley Gibbons #3469), used(o), 1998 definitive coil, stamp shows the handle bars of a modern bicycle, turquoise and black, serpentine die cut simulated perforations 9¾ (9.8) vertical (imperforated at top and bottom, perforations at the sides {IPIP}, photogravure printed by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, no watermark, no phosphorus, stamp size: 23x25mm, small sized ‘1998’ {1.0mm} date of issue at lower left margin, issued to qualified bulk mail customers who agree to pre-sort their mailings by zip code at an individual issue rate of (10 cents), {stamp should not be confused with a second run of the stamp by the Bureau with a similar size, design, and perforation, but with a larger ‘1998’ date of issue at bottom left at 1.5mm (Scott #3228a) and with a new stamp of similar design by Sennett Security Printers at a smaller size (22x25mm), wider perforations at scale 9.9, and a wider ‘1998’ date of issue at bottom left at 2.0mm (Scott #3229)} Scott 2025 Catalog Value: 25¢, nicely centered (superb), stamp is unusual in that it carries a hand stamp cancel mark as most presorted mail by-passes the automatic cancelling machines, light, quarter circular, double hit, red-inked, double rimmed, socked-on-the-nose border cancellation along the lower edge and well clear of the main image, good perforations, stamp was lifted from the mailing envelope using the Bestine solvent and placed on a piece of black trimmed card stock for an attractive and uniform album appearance with other stamps from the period similarly mounted; centering, mounting and image free cancellation warrants a selling price premium. This is not a 'bait-and-switch;' the stamp you see will be the one you receive.

I will keep a scan of my mailing to verify that the correct mailing address was used.
