Condition:Used/MailedU.S. Scott U544 5 cent Lincoln cut square pasted on an apparent billing envelope for the Connecticut Light & Power Co sent from Mount Vernon, New York to Norwalk, Connecticut. Mailed on October 9, 1965 it was illegally used as the Post Office Department did not permit stamps on stamped envelopes to be cut out and used as postage.
