Apex 1990 cert states 'unites states scott no. 1, used on cover, "way 1" usage, genuine, creased heavily through stamp.' the crease is part of a file fold. Docketing and letter indicates cover was sent from d.C. Sampson cashier of the southern bank of mobile, alabama concerning banking business. (scott 2021 catalog values #1 on cover at $425.00 + $500.00 for 'way' with numeral = $925.00) sent 1851, file fold through stamp, otherwise very fine condition.
