New Bulk Lister Tempaltes

I've gone ahead and created two new Bulk Lister templates to download, one for auctions, and one for store items. With 7 and 8 fields respectively; and if you're listing any stamp (as opposed to an accessory) you can just use the magic Category ID: 0 for all of your items.

Hope this helps everyone looking to use the Bulk Lister!

PS: If you're uploading local images (from your computer) you need to do so first - from the Image Manager tab in the Bulk Lister before you upload your file (as opposed to after such as on BS).

  • Yes. I also noticed that the images stay in the image manager when done. They will eventually be purged (right?), but if you opt to keep it clean and manually delete them after you load your listings, you can do so because they have already been processed and pulled "into" the listings themselves. I look forward to using the new templates, but I'm more inclined to stick with the advanced version, as I am populating the category fields and everything using exports from my database.
  • Once you upload images into the Image Manger they'll be deleted within approximately 24 hours (officially - unofficially it's about 72 hours).

If you're comfortable with the full template, by all means feel free to us it!

    Bulk Loader
So maybe I missed something. I used the "remote images" template that is new to me this morning and my store items are disappearing. Or I should I be using the bidstart Selling Export File (Store Items)?

I think that I figured this one out by myself.
  • Hi Ken,

I apologize for the confusion. Yes, if you're using the file you exported from the Items I'm Selling section - you should select the Items I'm Selling template. I've gone ahead and cancelled your current upload. Please try again with that template.
  • I still have some things to learn about how it all works. I have some new listings without their image showing - I think "Halleys Comet #1A.jpg" is not a good filename for example. I did figure out how to get the currency to show. I am going in and setting various topics, mainly "space", and I'm not getting my shipping and refund policy text fields any more.
Is there a way to export my listings to a csv file so I can maybe see what I need to edit, for what listings?
  • I'm with you James, I'm doing something very wrong. Can't wait for the video and have several DUH moments!
  • I have WAY fewer listings than you do, so I can only imagine the nightmare. My set of listings is small enough that I finally decided to close up shop on BidStart and upload everything fresh. The usual reasons. I never bothered with Ebay, well, not since StampWants, so syncing isn't a problem for me. I have a fairly good set of small upload files and their corresponding images, so I'm either being a big help or a big pain in the rear by having lots of relatively small uploads to play around with. But, I dare say, I'm having fun again.....and that's been my main goal ever since I couldn't get separate personal and business account with Paypal.
When I get settled in here, I will be adding in new material, for the moment just moving my little shop over here.
It's given me a mixed set of feelings, but I'll be ok by Friday at the latest.
  • Good to see you back to stampin'. Hope you are feeling as good, too.
  • Ah yes, a few certain special characters such as # in file names would cause an issue.
  • So, how goes it with the bulk lister status? Is there a guide of sorts yet? I find that I have to go look at each listing to make sure everything got there. Most of the time they are ok, but I'm still running into images not showing, country or category not being set (I can get holidays as a topic if I make it the main category in the Bidstart format, but the category doesn't get set. Alternatively I can get the category but not the topic), and I still have to choose the currency for each batch I upload. Maybe I should switch to something better?
Also, is there any sort of newsletter or announcements board to go to to find out the latest and greatest? I come and go as far as the forums go at this point, as I'm working on getting my listings going.
  • We haven't had a chance yet to put out further help. However, if you use one of the two new CSV file Simple templates (you can download at the top of the page), and select the "Default" template option when uploading - you shouldn't have any of the issues you mentioned. Give that a try and let me know.
