  • Doug, actually I was trying to delete a few items that I sold on BS as I had turned the BS sync off. So then I decided to turn the BS sync back on and thats I when I got into trouble. What a hoot. I still don't know if I have BS sync on or off. If anybody knows where I should be looking for that little nugget, please let me know.
  • Mark: Is it possible to sync the Format from BS. In my case almost all of my listings are either FDC or Event covers but zero of them have that as a format except for the one that I edited in HS to add the format. It would appear that the sync does capture the second category from BS but not the first or am I just doing something wrong?

    Go to Member Area and click on Seller Tools then click on bidStart Sync.

    If sync is off Status: will say Disabled.

    If sync is on Status: will say Enabled. If Enabled just click the button to Disable it.

    Thank you. I am enabled with BS. What really confuses me is the BIG red button that says DISABLE while on the left side in an undramatic manner is Enabled. With the button being big and red my eyes were immediately drawn there and my brain says I'm disabled. Now stop laughing, y'all know what I mean!

    We just made some updates and are currently reprocessing listings to add appropriate attributes. Also note that we moved FDC and Cover (Postal History) form Stamp Type to Stamp Condition. Check back at the end of the week, and see if your items have the appropriate attributes then.
  • Thanks Mark, the one I did edit does show in the stamp condition area. Are you going to use the Marketplace type of algorithm to identify FDC and Cover from the description or are you going to use the BS Category? In my case I was not aware that FDC needed to be in the description for my early listings so only about 30% of them show in the Marketplace as FDC. I have been editing in the FDC into the descriptions but this is a slow process.
  • It will be picked up from either the title or the BS category - so you should be fine once your items are synced again.
  • The problem I see right now is that BS keeps deleting pictures, so if I turn sync back on I will lose the ones I have added here. I'll just wait and fix them once we are further along here.

    You should be fine - because the pictures on bidStart aren't being deleted from your listings - they're just being deleted mysteriously in general, and still attached to your listings (leaving a broken image). However, if you've already imported the item - we won't overwrite the image with a broken one - so you should be fine.

    Just a heads up. The sync was NOT working between SG and Bidstart either. (My SG store was't updated during that time either) It does look like they got it working again some time today and everything was updated on SG too.
  • All the items have new ID #'s. Will this cause a sync problem?

    Mark: I see the stamp condition is now showing the FDC but only those that have FDC in the title. Is there a list somewhere that defines what the condition is looking for in the title? I see that a cover with Booklet Pane in the title is showing up as a sheet so I presume the word Pane = Sheet but would like to know what other key words trigger the Condition? About 60% of my FDC do not have FDC in the title so would appreciate knowing if there is a way to do a mass update either in HS or BS to include FDC in the title?

  • Hi Michael,

    If you follow the steps I emailed last week, and re-import your items from BS - it will pick up the FDC categories correctly now, regardless of if FDC is in the title. Once you do that, if you still have an issue - please let me know via email.

  • This may be a stupid question but I am not a person that normally syncs ! I know the Bidstart to HipStamp sync is turned off now. My question is when the sync does turn back on - will all of the changes since my initial load (following the instructions) was completed - be processed - or will I need to re-load the entire store over again first ? I have had a couple of items sold or removed on Bidstart and additional stamps added in the last few days.. Thanks, Steve
