Washington 2 Cent Coil stamps From Old Stock Book Are these the good one worth listing?

edited November 2018 in Questions 0 LikesVote Down
Hi Need some help on these Washington Coil Stamps I had recently found some of the stamps i had as a kid 40 years ago and had also bought some old stock books that are from the 1950's or 1960's

The coil stamps are perf 10 and i checked for watermark and there are none Are these the good ones i also added images of the book It's mind boggling because they are mixed up or not cataloged right

none of the stamps past those dates but going thru the stock pages i found out the cat # don't match up i found F & A Grills in the scott 65 area and others don't match up you see anything worth while some of the coil washington's sold for over $100 same as mine perhaps they are worth much back in the 50's and that's why they are still here i have pic of the grills i can add later and the coil stamps don't have any watermarks I'd sell the 2 books i have as a lot if they's just place setter's i have 10 other big albums to go thru and a lot of packets and stock books with other stamps non us even tho i found some in them thanks Austin

To be Honest with you i just got back into stamps after my Dad died back in 2015 i had to go back from kANSAS to NH by train and gathered up his property and my stamp book he had kept after 40 years and some others from my grand dad i had only started to go thru the boxes a few months back and had also bought some more at an estate sale and only just started to list them online.
I only want to id them correctly so i don't have to refund buyers or mis led them i guess i could be blunt like say in the listing this is what you get instead of listring it properly I'd be glad to give anyone a commission via paypal after it sell of 20% I literally have close to 100 thousand stamps.and i'm on disability from the service and have lupus and at times it effects my thinking ands message me if you don;t believe this and i sometimes mess up my listings by mistake.MY dr says it effets the brain when you tyr to do to much. amtrak train that derailed back in 2015

  • Austin - One of the best things you could do is get hold of an old Scott catalogue for US stamps. It wouldn't need to be a recent edition....you can buy used ones online that are only a few years old at a substantial discount. Alternatively you might be able to borrow one from the local library, if they have one. Most of the items i see in your scans wouldn't be that difficult to match up with their catalogue numbers and year of issue, and as you gain experience, you'll find the process to move along quicker and faster. Then you could search online to see what other sellers are asking (catalogue values oftentimes mean little in the real world) as a guide for what you might ask for your items. On the more complicated stamps, members here will be glad to help you sort them out.
I can relate to your being disabled, since I am as well. My life-long hobby makes for a perfect pastime under the circumstances, both as a collector and a seller. Who knows? As you start on your learning curve with stamps, maybe you'll take up the hobby of your youth again.
  • Hi George & Thank
For the info I had been doing exactly what you described looking at what other sellers are getting for closed lots i tried ebay and listed store items and only got 3 or 87 hits in a month and tried auctions and 0 bids so i gave up on ebay i think they are used out the general public doesn't trust honest sellers anymore because of all the scammers on their.

I had ordered a Michaels book but it got lost in the mail they said and i was looking at some scott sets on evilbay and just waiting for some money to come in.

When i was a kid back in the 70's i loved collecting stamps but with this health issue i think it effects my interest in stamp collecting or even coins that i have collected hard to explain but sometime I'll have that interest back and then i had bought several albums to complete the German Empire section and the U S stamps

That's why i had joined her because i have a lot to get rid off i mean i had bought a lot of packets and mint blocks and today i was going thru a stock book from Austria and found some early Occupied and mint ones NH below are some pic. I have a lot of UAR and Iran Stamps that are either real or fake that are worth a lot.I can understand today's collectors that buys online being cautious because of the printer quality and forgers making stamps. But a lot of these stamps were my Grand dads along with the currency he brought back fro overseas during the war when he was in Germany & that's why i collect them.

BTW the off centered stamp IS Austrian Kind of Cool Well it was in the Austrian Section Post marked 1891 Cant find any info about them but cool

Many Thanks George and have a great Holiday season Austin
