US Scott #65 (A25) Used 3c Washington " Imperforate" Stamp.?

Yes I purchased this stamp recently on a Whim.! In the Scott 2019 Specialized Catalog .There is no mention of a 3c Washington Rose (A25) Stamp which is Imperforate.! Or Imperforated..The stamp does not appear to be trimmed on the sides because it has extra wide margins.Does anybody know.? Used Scott #65 images attached (both front and back):

  • Hi Kim,
    Not an imperf.
The stamp is an upper right corner wing-margin (Top right stamp on the page). The perfs at left and bottom have been trimmed off in an attempt to make it look like an imperforate stamp (which does not exist in the 65).
If you look closely at the bottom of the stamp, especially your back image, it's easier to see, you will notice tiny little, equally spaced "dimples" in the paper, where the perforations have been cut away. You may only see this under magnification, but it's obvious if you look at the bottom left of your stamp's back image.
Too bad, it has a nice PAID cancel visible otherwise, but now it is a damaged/altered stamp, and has essentially no value in this issue.
  • I concur. Pretty easy to see.
  • Lo siento amigo...
  • SE...No Argumento Senior.!! Scott Payton has answered my question.!!
I viewed the cut perforation at the bottom of the target stamp, and this told the story.!! Closed Case..Thx Scott..
  • Scott taught us well, even I saw the little dimples before I read his explanation. Watch out, I'm learning and remembering!
  • You know, I love these stories. I'm working on a new series that this era will also become part of.
  • It’s a good example . Could be in the IDPA newsletter ??
  • Interestingly this has to be no less than the 3rd or 4th "imperf 65" that I've seen, with margins this size. So from that perspective, it's a good topic.
  • I learned from itv
