I have some partial sheets of scott #551 and 562 if there are 3-4 stamps missing from the sheet is it better to break it up into blocks of 4-6 or pairs ? Or sell the partial sheet
Well for the 551 in particular, there are no plate numbers left on that multiple. Big blocks especially of odd shapes don't tend to sell well. Since a block of 4 is $1 (no MNH value for block of 4 but you can consider the MNH single value x 4 = $2), you might break this into larger blocks each with some amount of selvage as you can, left on. If it were me, I think I would break the bottom left corner into a block of 7x7. Separate the right 4 at bottom into a strip of 4. The top, I would make a block of 4 with the top 2 selvage attached. Then a block from what's left at the left of that, with left selvage, then a block from what's left at the right, but you might separate 1 single off, and that one with the piece missing is too ugly for anything, I'd just abandon that one.
Now, the 10c Monroe block of 50 is a completely different matter. You still have the plate number at upper left, keep that piece together! It's amazing. If you want to sell it, let me know I'd be interested.
Thanks for the Amazing and Yes I would Love to Sell it I need some. Christmas Money. I went up to the lake house were some of my other stamps were and found some more sheets and others.
I am getting a Scott catalog for Christmas. Santa is bringing it to me and also a perforation gauge but I appreciate everybody’s feedback. It’s been very helpful.
