Happy Easter

For those of us that celebrate Easter, I do hope you have a wonderful day.

We will be heading to the beach very early in the morning. Not for sunrise Services. Reena has been wanting to go to the Inlet and what a perfect time. She's had a spa day today, nails clipped and a good washing/brushing. It will be nice to just sit for awhile and enjoy the water and quite. Then home to continue the day as usual.

Remember to look everywhere for all the eggs!

  • Happy Easter everyone. We went to the Lake Michigan shoreline this morning, but it was a tad windy and the whitecaps made for a treacherous walk.

Happy Easter everyone! Luree, I envy your quiet relaxing day at the beach. This year Orthodox (Greek) Easter fall on the same day. So I have spent the entire week baking Greek Pastry and preparing a Greek & American feast for tomorrow. Church tonight, family gathering later tomorrow to enjoy the food and drink - Glasses of Ouzo raised to
    " Christos Anesti ".
  • So many different ways to celebrate a momentous day!

    HAPPY EASTER TO ALL!
  • Happy Easter to one and all.

Services earlier this morning and then the daughter who has been away to college for quite a while will be coming home for the big family dinner - looking forward to seeing her again.

  • I realize this is rather late, but still, Happy Easter to all! We had several sailors over to the house as sell as my daughter, son-in-law, and grandson, for Easter Dinner! Menu items included roast lamb, potato pancakes, peas, and creamed spinach. Then for dessert we all made resurrection rolls! You dip a white marshmallow symbolizing Jesus and His purity, dipped in melted butter and then cinnamon and sugar representing the spices He was anointed with, then wrap it in crescent roll dough representing the tomb Jesus was laid in, and bake. When they come out of the oven and you bite into them the first thing you notice is the marshmallow is gone. The symbolism being an empty tomb. Jesus rose from the dead. HE IS RISEN!
  • I had never heard of Resurrection Rolls before! That sounds so clever and . . yummy!!

Is it permissible to make them on a day other than Easter? I'd love to try out your recipe!
  • Marshmallow, butter, sugar, you know know why they get the name Resurrection ROLLS, right?!!
  • Ha Ha Kurt! Yes, Dave they are yummy! Permissible? Of course! We had quite a bit of cinnamon and sugar mixture left over - some of the sailors enjoyed finishing that off straight! We use Saigon Cinnamon from Costco. It has a bit of a bite to it (spicy)...really good.
  • They really do sound very yummy. I will need to try them out myself. But I wont tell anybody the marshmallow isn't there.
