Does any on know of a list of cities that a particular stamp was issued? Scott lists the number of different cities but I don’t seem to find a listing of the specific cities.
That information is too highly specialized for catalogues such as Scott, etc. The Pre-Cancel Society will have that information. They had a very large catalog that they sold. I don't know if they have that, or if it's just online. You'll need to be a member, I believe, in order to view the catalog.
Steiner has pages for Bureau pre-canceled stamps. You can find out all the cities from those pages, although they are not complete, and omit back-of-book, and locally pre-cancelled stamps.
The PSS Bureau Precancel catalog lists every Bureau precancel stamp ever made. There were only ~9400. The PSS Town & Type catalog lists every precancel type, but not every stamp used with each precancel. This is because there are millions of combinations. There are more specialized catalogs for all stamps before 1922 and specific issues that do list every stamp used.
