Seller Marketing program

In today's environment where you need to be skeptical with e-mails offering free services, I am wondering about e-mails that I am receiving from Hipecommerce offering to promote my Hip store for free if I join the Seller Marketing program.

Since I cannot seem to find anything on this site about a Seller Marketing program, is the e-mail legit or a form of scam? I am particularly skeptical since I only have a Basic store where I cannot even promote my store myself, so why would Hip do it for free?

    My guess, though, is that it is BECAUSE you have a basic store, and they want you to see how your business improves with this marketing support, in order to encourage you to upgrade your store.

    Spoiler alert: the marketing support is effective.

    Myself have e-mails of the selfsame tenor. (I also have a basic level store.)
