Item Description

This is an authentic stamp issued in 1840..It has a rare Red Maltese Cross cancel..This stamp was printed from 11 different plates..The letters in the bottom corners I'm told are the designers initials of that particular plate..The Black Penny was used until 1841 when it was replaced by the Brown Penny..This was in someones collection for many years as you can see the hinge marks in the second scan..Stamp is sound, color is perfect and there are no faults..I will ship stamp flat  in a glassine and ship secure in cardboard..Buyer pays $2.95 1st Class Mail including tracking in the United States only..Combined shipping for additional lots this size will be 30cents, same day auctions..I will notify the buyer at auctions end with all the information to complete the transaction..Thank you for looking..
