Approximately 9.25" x 12.25""American Railroad Journal, and Advocate of Internal Improvements." Saturday, August 24, 1833. Masthead shows a train pulled by an early 1830s steam engine with a pennant reading Philadelphia." A four-wheeled gondola car laden with freight follows. Nex is a four-wheeled passenger car labeled "Boston New York Philadelphia, and last a flat car loaded with a fancy umbrellaed carriage carrying passengers. Complete with 14 pages numbered [529] through 544.
The journal articles include one about the Boston & Worcester competing for western traffic, building a railroad in Virginia that would connect Blakely with Richmond via Petersburg.
No postal markings.
In nice shape with some minor foxing.
