1843 Annapolis MD stampless folded letter to Hagerstown. Black CDS and paid; 25 rate in manuscript; name endorsement (J.M. buchanan) at upper right; he was a member of the MD house of delegates (legislature) and a cousin of president Buchanan, who made him minister to Denmark in 1858. Business letter signed by Buchanan. From a large collection of canal town postal history I will be breaking up in coming months.Your satisfaction is guaranteed.
