1848 stampless folded letter from St. Clairsville OH to New York. Green CDS and paid; with fancy negative 5 rate marking with stars crossed out and the matching 10 marking applied. This may be the most impressive single example of these well known fancy handstamps. HOrizontal file fold with some toning but away from the markings; with business letter content.From a large collection of canal town postal history I will be breaking up in coming months.Your satisfaction is guaranteed.
