1850s 3 cent nesbitt stamped envelope, Scott U2 (early printing with nesbitt seal on reverse); San Diego CA to West Amesbury MA, with black CDS and paid handstamp and 10 in mansuscript. Indicia is cancelled in manuscript. Not clear if the stamped envelope was disregarded, or if (more likely) the difference was paid in cash when mailed. A very unusual west coast use of a nesbitt-seal tamped envelope.Your satisfaction is guaranteed. APS member since 1992 and Hip seller since 1996.
