To: Martinsburg, West Virginia Sending Postmark: Washington, D.C., duplex cancel dated May 31, 1890 (Saturday) at 12 M (Noon). Receiving Postmark: Martinsburg, W. VA., "REC'D" circular date stamp on the reverse, dated May 31, 1890 (Saturday) at 6 PM. Transit: The cover traveled approximately 75 miles and was delivered on the same day with a transit time of 6 hours. Postage: A 2-cent stamp paid the first-class letter rate. Sender and Addressee Details The cover features a printed return address for C. M. Alexander, Solicitor of Patents, at 709 G Street, Northwest, Washington, D.C.
