Each card is approximately 4" x 2,5"Three membership cards for the League of American Wheelmen, an early and influential bicycling advocacy organization Two of these cards were issued to Ed. G Beck (1891 and 1893); one was issued to Ezra Earnes Cleaves (1892.
The League of American Wheelmen, organized at Newport, Rhode Island, was an early bicycling sporting group whose advocacy and lobbying efforts through its "Good Roads Movement" were largely responsible for the Unites States' urban, rural, and cross-country road network that we enjoy today. The organization still exists today as the League of American Bicyclists.
