Transit Postmark: Morrison, ILL., "REC'D" circular date stamp on the reverse, dated April 15, 1898 (Friday) at 3 PM. Receiving Postmark: Malvern, ILL., circular date stamp on the reverse, also dated April 15, 1898. Transit: The cover traveled approximately 18 miles via Morrison and was processed and delivered on the same day. Postage: A 2-cent stamp paid the first-class letter rate.
