1913 Netherlands Poster Stamp Exhibition Of The Woman A Century Of Women’s Contributions To Dutch Society 1813–1913 From May To October Meerhuizen Amsteldijk Amsterdam. Unused No GumThis Dutch Poster Stamp Was Issued In 1913 To Promote The “Tentoonstelling De Vrouw 1813–1913” (Exhibition Of The Woman 1813–1913), A Major Cultural And Historical Event Celebrating A Century Of Women’s Contributions To Dutch Society. Held At The “Meerhuizen” Pavilion On Amsteldijk In Amsterdam From May To October 1913, The Exhibition Coincided With The Centenary Of Dutch Independence And A Rising Feminist Movement. The Stamp’s Design, Printed In Purple And Yellow, Is A Masterful Example Of Art Nouveau Symbolism. It Features A Central Female Figure With Outstretched Arms, Framed By Radiating Lines That Evoke A Halo Or Sunburst, Emphasizing Enlightenment And Empowerment. At Her Feet Stands A Child With Raised Hands, Symbolizing Motherhood And Future Generations. Flanking The Central Figure Are Two Seated Women Engaged In Traditional Domestic Tasks, Such As Spinning And Sewing, Reflecting The Historical Roles Of Women. Ornamental Seals And Amsterdam’s Triple-X Civic Symbol Appear At The Bottom. The Design Was Created By W. C. Chijpsken, Whose Name Appears In The Lower Right Corner.
