1913 Switzerland Exhibition Poster Stamp Basel Trade Fair Oct. 27th - Nov. 9th Unused Hinge Marks 80% Original Gum Marked On Back "Printed In Germany"This Poster Stamp Was Issued To Promote The Basler Messe, Or Basel Fair, Held From October 27 To November 9, 1913, In The City Of Basel, Switzerland. The Stamp Features A Cheerful Balloon Vendor Dressed In Traditional Swiss Attire, Including A Red Checked Jacket And Feathered Hat, Holding A Cluster Of Brightly Colored Balloons In Red, Blue, And Green. Behind Him Stands A Large Crowd, With The Twin Spires Of Basel Minster Visible In The Background, Anchoring The Scene In The Historic City Center. A Festive Table Laden With Ribbons Or Merchandise Stands In Front Of The Vendor, Emphasizing The Commercial And Celebratory Nature Of The Event.
