1914–15 United Kingdom Poster Stamp War Seal Foundation ½d (Half Penny) Disabled Service Unused No Gum Straight EdgeThis Is A British Charity Cinderella Stamp — A War Seal Issued During World War I, Specifically For The 1914–1915 Campaign Year. This War Seal Was Issued In The United Kingdom. It Was Part Of A British Charitable Effort During World War I, Specifically For The Years 1914–1915, To Support Disabled Service Members. These Seals Were Commonly Produced By Organizations Such As The Disabled Soldiers' And Sailors' Families Fund And Other Patriotic Relief Groups. The Use Of ½d (Half Penny) As The Symbolic Value Confirms Its British Origin, As That Denomination Was Part Of The Pre-Decimal Currency System Used In The UK Until 1971. If You’d Like, I Can Help Identify The Exact Organization That Issued This Specific Seal Or Find Others From The Same Wartime Campaign. These Seals Were Sold To Raise Funds For Charities Supporting Wounded And Disabled British Servicemen Returning From The Front. They Were Not Valid For Postal Use, But Commonly Affixed To Envelopes And Packages To Demonstrate Support For The Cause And Help With Fundraising. This Seal Is One Of The Earlier In A Series That Continued Throughout The War And Into The Postwar Period. Similar Designs Were Issued Annually, Sometimes With Variations In Color, inscription, or denomination. The War Seal Foundation was established in 1915 by British theater manager and philanthropist Sir Oswald Stoll. Its primary mission was to support disabled servicemen returning from World War I by providing them with housing and assistance for reintegration into civilian life. The foundation funded the construction of residences known as "War Seal Mansions", offering long-term accommodation to disabled veterans and their families. The "Disabled Service 1914–1915" war seal was a charity stamp issued to raise funds for the War Seal Foundation. Purchasing and displaying these seals demonstrated public support for wounded veterans and contributed financially to their welfare. These stamps, often referred to as Cinderella stamps, were not valid for postage but served as a means of fundraising and awareness. Sir Oswald Stoll's efforts through the War Seal Foundation significantly contributed to the welfare of disabled British servicemen, providing them with essential support during their transition back to civilian life.A Friendly Note Before You Buy...Why Buy From Me?Over 6,000 Positive Reviews On Hip Stamp, You Can Buy With Confidence! With Over 50 Years Of Business Experience In New York And Florida Across Various Enterprises, I Bring A Lifetime Of Integrity, Reliability, And Expertise To Every Transaction.
