1916–17 Austria Poster Stamp Imperial And Royal Field Howitzer Regiment No. 25, 1916–17 Used No Gum This Austrian Poster Stamp Was Issued During World War I To Commemorate The Service Of The Austro-Hungarian Field Howitzer Regiment No. 25 For The Campaign Years 1916–1917. Printed In A Deep Olive Green Monochrome Palette, The Image Depicts A Covered Military Gun Emplacement Or Field Shelter, With A Large Artillery Piece—Identifiable By Its Prominent Wheel And Gun Barrel—Stationed In The Foreground. To The Left, A Soldier Stands Beside The Gun Under A Wooden Roof Structure, While The Right Half Of The Scene Shows More Of The Carriage And Timber Supports. The Image Is Framed With A Stylized Laurel And Oak Leaf Border, Symbolizing Military Honor And Strength. The Caption At The Bottom Reads “K. U. K. Feldhaubitz-Regiment Nr. 25, 1916/17,” Referring To The Imperial And Royal Austro-Hungarian Field Howitzer Regiment Number 25. A Large Circular Military Fieldpost Cancellation Mark Is Prominently Stamped Over The Image In Purple Ink, Indicating It Was Likely Distributed Via A Soldier’s Letter As A Souvenir Or Patriotic Seal. These Types Of Stamps Were Often Created By Or For Regiments As Morale Boosters, Fundraisers, Or Tokens Of Service. The Vertical Center Crease Is Visible But Does Not Obscure The Primary Elements Of The Design. Country Of Origin: Austria-Hungary. Visible Text (Rewritten In Sentence Form): German: K. U. K. Feldhaubitz-Regiment Nr. 25, 1916/17 — English Translation: Imperial And Royal Field Howitzer Regiment No. 25, 1916–17. The Cancellation Mark Overprinted In Black On This Poster Stamp Is A Circular Military Fieldpost Cancellation, Most Likely Applied During World War I. Although Slightly Obscured By The Image Design, It Clearly Features The Text “K.U.K. FELDPOSTAMT” (Imperial And Royal Field Post Office) Curved Along The Upper Rim Of The Circular Mark. This Confirms The Stamp Was Used Or Processed Through The Austro-Hungarian Military Postal System. The Lower Arc Appears To Read “DIVISION 25” Or A Similar Unit Designation, Though The Full Text Is Somewhat Illegible Due To Overlapping Ink And Image Elements.Inside The Circle, There Is A Large Stylized “F” Or Possibly The Number “7”, Typical Of Regiment Or Fieldpost Zone Identifiers. The Cancellation Appears To Have Been Applied With A Handstamp In Dark Purple-Black Ink That Has A Slight Feathering Effect, Consistent With Period Usage. The Design Intersects The Main Wheel And Central Gun Barrel Of The Image But Does Not Obscure The Bottom Text Line, Allowing Full Readability Of “K.U.K. Feldhaubitz-Regiment Nr. 25, 1916/17.”In Summary:This Is A Genuine K.U.K. Military Fieldpost Cancellation From The Austro-Hungarian Army, Applied In 1916 Or 1917 To A Commemorative Regimental Poster Stamp Likely Circulated With Soldier Mail Or As A Unit SouvenirA Friendly Note Before You Buy...Why Buy From Me?Over 6,000 Positive Reviews On Hip Stamp, You Can Buy With Confidence! With Over 50 Years Of Business Experience In New York And Florida Across Various Enterprises, I Bring A Lifetime Of Integrity, Reliability, And Expertise To Every Transaction.
