1919 Germany Charity Propaganda Poster Stamp 2 Heller Young German League Unused Two Paper Hinge Remnants No GumThe Young German League was a national-conservative association of senior citizens of the Wandervogel movement, founded under the influence of the First World War. Following a call from Otger Gräff, who died in the war in 1917, the founding meeting took place at Lauenstein Castle from August 9 to 12, 1919. Frank Glatzel gave the founding lecture and also assumed the leadership. Other founding members included the Prussian state parliament member of the German National People's Party and theologian Karl Bernhard Ritter (1890–1968), and the eugenicist Hans Harmsen (1899–1989). The Young German League dissolved on January 1, 1930.This German Poster Stamp Was Issued Circa 1919 As A Symbolic Expression Of The Ideals Of The Jungdeutscher Bund (Young German League), A National-Conservative Youth Organization Formed By Senior Members Of The Wandervogel Movement In The Aftermath Of World War I. The Design Features A Semi-Nude Youth Standing Atop A Staircase, Arms Raised Toward A Radiant Rising Sun, Symbolizing Rebirth, Vitality, And A New National Spirit. Flanking The Scene Are Two Monumental Cypress Trees, While Below, Two Cloaked Figures—Likely Representing Religious Or Bourgeois Authority—Shrink Away In Shadow, Alluding To The Movement’s Rejection Of Traditional Clericalism And Social Conformity. The Letters “L.V.R.” At The Top Refer Not To Latvia Or Bolshevism, But Rather To The League’s Cultural Or Spiritual Mission (Likely Leben, Volk, Recht Or A Similar Motto, Though The Exact Meaning In This Case Is Unconfirmed). The Young German League Was Officially Founded At Lauenstein Castle In August 1919 And Dissolved In 1930, And This Stamp Reflects The Romantic, Völkisch, And Reform-Oriented Aesthetic That Characterized Much Of German Youth Culture In The Interwar Period. No Visible Flaws Are Present. Visible Text (Rewritten In Sentence Form): L.V.R. Country Of Origin: Germany Year Of Issue: 1919We're Happy To Combine Shipping On Multiple Orders To Help You Save!
