1930's Czechoslovakia Poster Stamp Hirsch Brand Deer Soap Soap Is The Best Guaranteed Pure Genuine Core (Ceres) Unused No Gum. From 1885 the small company with 12 employees at that time grew rapidly, selling a lot of other items such as candles, margarine, water glass, stearin and glycerine. Deer soap, which was produced from the end of the 19th century until 2002, was very popular. The brand name "Ceres", named after the goddess Ceres, was used for numerous foods and is still in use today. In 1894, at the hygiene exhibition in Vienna, the Georg Schicht company in Aussig ad Elbe was awarded the gold medal for its "patent soap".The company also set up its own machine works and forge, operated coal mines and power plants. It also invested in some chemical and food manufacturing companies. A branch was founded in 1906 in Moravian Ostrava. Because of health problems, Johann Schicht converted his company into a public limited company in 1906, of which the Schicht family owned 80%. When Johann Schicht died in 1907, the company had 1,800 employees. Johann was succeeded by his son Heinrich Schicht as head of the company. After the purchase of the company Emanuel Khuner & Sohn (Kunerol brand), the margarine factory was built in Vienna-Atzgersdorf in 1923. In 1929, Unilever Austria was founded from ten companies in the industry, including Georg Schicht AG, and merged with Unilever Germany in 1939 after the Anschluss. Wikipedia
