Very Scarce 1933 US Poster Stamp American Philatelic Society Convention & Exhibition Chicago Aug. 21–26 Set/4 MNH.

These Poster Stamps Were Issued For The American Philatelic Society Convention & Exhibition Held In Chicago, Illinois From August 21 To 26, 1933, Coinciding With The City’s World’s Fair — The Century Of Progress International Exposition. The Event Was Hosted In The Federal Building, A Central Venue On The Fairgrounds. The Design Shows: A Stylized View Of The Federal Building, Rendered In Dramatic Art Deco Lines With Radiating Beams Behind It, Symbolizing Modernity And National Achievement. Flanking The Building Are The American Flag And The Century Of Progress Emblem, A “Y”-Shaped Symbol Of Unity And Advancement. Below The Building Is A Circular Seal Featuring The APS Insignia — A Seated Figure Holding A Globe And Envelope — Along With The Motto “American Philatelic Society / Founded 1886.” Text At The Bottom Reads: “Aug. 21–26, 1933 / Chicago Illinois” There Are At Least Four Known Color Varieties: Blue On Light Blue, Black On Orange, Red On Cream, Maroon On Green. These Color Variants Were Likely Produced As Souvenir Editions, And May Have Been Used To Denote Different Days, Admission Levels, or Simply Offered As Collectible Keepsakes During The Convention. This Issue Reflects The Height Of 1930s American Philatelic Culture — Celebrating Not Only Stamp Collecting But Also The Broader Themes Of National Progress, Engineering, And Civic Engagement That Defined The Century Of Progress Fair. .
