Council Against Intolerance In America Unused No Gum Paper AdhesionThis Poster Stamp Was Issued In 1939 By The Council Against Intolerance In America As Part Of A Patriotic Campaign Promoting Civil Unity And Democratic Values On The Eve Of World War II. The Design Features A Stylized Female Figure Draped In White With Flowing Hair, Representing Liberty Or Columbia, With The American Flag Billowing Behind Her. She Extends Her Arm In A Gesture Of Strength And Welcome, Framed Against A Divided Background Of Deep Blue And Light Sky Blue.
