Item Description

 Up for auction is a telegram cover from the commandant of the concentration extermination camp of Auschwitz in Germany occupied Poland. Konzentrationlager KZ. The telegram is dated November 2, 1942 and informs the recipient that a family member has died at Auschwitz. The notices were sent from the camp's opening until around 1943 when the volume of deaths made sending death notices to individual family members unduly burdensome.

Sent to Bronistwa Godlewska, death of son Hipolit.

Priced to sell.

For the serious collector of Judaica and Holocaust related philately this is an exceptional item. Cover is in good condition but has been folded and shows wear.
