Up for auction is a beautiful stampless prisoner of war postcard cover from Germany, sent by an Austrlian POW at Stalag 7 A to Victoria, Australia. Postmarked December 10, 1942. Beautiful cancels and markings. In excellent condition. Priced to sell. Nice postal history cover. On the front it is stamped Stalag 7A. Sender is a soldier named Sergeant H T Spencer to Caulfield. Handwritten message on the back. Scarce cover in that it was sent airmail via the USA and their is a handwritten notation that it requires an uprating of 40 pf but no additional postage is affixed. POWs were entitled to free postage, but not for airmail. very very few POW covers exist that were sent airmail. Note it is triple censored by US, German and Australian authorities.Shipping will be a flat $2.00 within the continental U.S. for USPS mail. Overseas airmail shipping is $3.00. Questions?
