Up for auction is a very rare and unusual Kosow Poland ghetto postcard letter cover from L Rudy in the ghetto in Poland to her son Abraham Rudy in paris France. The card is dated In July 1, 1942.Priced to sell. Judaica. Exceptionally rare item. The Kosow ghetto was in existence from late 1939 until September 22, 1942 when the 1200 inhabitants were marched to the Treblinka camp and executed, the only known transport to go by foot.Abraham Rudy was hidden by a French music teacher and survived the war according to yad Vashem. This cover is part of an 8 item correspondence. The cover was probably one of the last pieces of mail to leave the ghetto before it was liquidated a week later.Stamp removed by German censor.For the serious collector of Judaica and Holocaust related philately this is an exceptional item.
