1943 Jersey German WW II Occupation Issues 1/2d-3d Views of Jersey Jersey-Born Artist Edmund Blampied Complete Set/6 Unused Very Light Hinge Marks 90% Original Gum

These Wartime Local Stamps Were Issued On The Island Of Jersey During The German Occupation Of The Channel Islands In World War II. The Occupation Began In 1940, And These Stamps Were Released In 1943 To Provide A Local Postal System Under German Control. Although They Bear The Name "Jersey Postage," They Were Only Valid For Use Within The Island Itself, As The Channel Islands Had Been Cut Off From The United Kingdom During The Conflict. The Designs Were Created By The Renowned Jersey-Born Artist Edmund Blampied, Whose Signature “Blampied Del” Appears On Each Stamp. The Engraver’s Name, “Cobbold Sc,” Is Also Present On All Issues. The Set Includes Six Different Denominations, Each Showcasing A Distinct View Of The Island’s Countryside, Coastal Landscapes, And Historic Sites. The Green ½d Stamp Depicts A Farmer With A Cow Passing Through A Stone Archway In A Rural Scene.
